Software Products

In a fast paced software world, opportunity cost hurts.

Valuable supports better decision making and helps you work on the right thing, at the right time.

"Wait why is that the priority?", "Argh! Why do they keep pushing that project!", "That's just a glory project for their own benefit, we should be focusing on customers".

Have you ever felt like the things the business is working on make no sense? Valuable takes away the pain of turning ideas in to decisions. Using the outcome driven innovation framework by Anthony Ulwick and the Harvard Business Review, we help you by encouraging consistent decisions across teams, showing that decisions are being made objectively and by ensuring you have the data you need to make your decision.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I use a decision making framework?

Using a framework for decisions can help you make better decisions, faster.

Whether it's outcome driven innovation, or some other framework, being able to make objective, repeatable decisions as you scale means you can work with your customers in mind. Having many people across your business come up with different outcomes for the same decision does not inspire confidence in that decision. If you get 10 different answers for one decision, how can you trust any of those decisions?

By taking the emotion and ego out of the decision, and basing it on data known as fact, it becomes simple to identify what the outcome most likely to succeed is.

Instead of the conversation going around in circles as someone tries to wear you down, just pick the decision with the best numbers - knowing that those numbers can't be gamed.

What is outcome driven innovation?

From Wikipedia,

Outcome-Driven Innovation (ODI) is a strategy and innovation process developed by Anthony W. Ulwick. It is built around the theory that people buy products and services to get jobs done. As people complete these jobs, they have certain measurable outcomes that they are attempting to achieve. It links a company's value creation activities to customer-defined metrics.

Ulwick found that previous innovation practices were ineffective because they were incomplete, overlapping, or unnecessary. ODI attempts to identify important but poorly served, and unimportant but over-served, jobs and outcomes. ODI focuses on customer-desired outcome rather than demographic profile in order to segment markets and offer well-targeted products. By knowing how customers measure value, companies are able to align the actions of marketing, development, and R&D with these metrics and systematically create customer value.

What's to stop you from stealing my work or ideas?

Your business may or may not be your passion. We're passionate about helping you make good decisions. Not about your particular industry, vertical or domain. People ask similar questions on startup ideas: "What's to stop you stealing my startup idea?". The technical answer is "nothing". The real answer is "Your business is more than just an idea or a decision - it's the culmination of all of your experience and talent to date, mixed in with your customers and assets". Those things are much more valuable then an idea, and much harder to come by. Ideas are cheap, execution is not.

We feel strongly that your idea is yours. We succeed when you succeed.

In terms of keeping your data safe, our app was built with your trust and security in mind. We follow best practice security techniques in the Valuable app itself, as well as everywhere else in the business.

Why use Valuable when I already have a spreadsheet?

We already know that our biggest competition is a twelve year old spreadsheet on someone's external hard drive.

What we have, that your spreadsheet doesn't, is an understanding of how many other businesses make decisions, and the lessons that come from that.

Your spreadsheet might be the place your decisions are currently stored (and we can pull that data in to Valuable when you migrate), but it's only solving for some of your problems. It isn't purpose build for sharing information, it might not automate report generation (though we've seen some pretty gnarly spreadsheets in our research), and it certainly won't integrate with your issue trackers, accounting software and other tools.

Valuable does all this and more, and we're adding features every day. Let us focus on the 'how', so you can focus on the 'what' and 'why'.

Zoom in on outcomes for customers with Valuable.

Analyse and compare a range of options in real time. Plan for contingencies, choose your course of action, then share it with the people who can help. Do that faster then the competition and you'll always be two steps ahead.

Customer outcomes,
fast.
